Join us for an evening with Colin Hyde, Research Assistant and Outreach Officer. Colin will give us an insight into the work of the East Midlands Oral History Archive with local examples.
Oral History is a fantastic topic, do you remember talking to your grandad or grandma about what they did when they were younger? Don’t you wish you had a recording of that?
Colin Hyde will help us understand how to get people talking about their family and work histories with a microphone in front of them rather than down the pub or cafe! And he will also be telling us about the Archive, with samples from our area and also of Leicester textile workers.
The Oral History Archive talk is on Thursday 26 September in the education room (by the marquee), doors open 7.30pm, talk starts at 8pm. Tickets available from here.
Come and enjoy with us what will be an excellent evening and might spark ideas for oral history projects connected to the Mill.
Location: Mill Yard (Education Room).
A series of collaborative events between the Arkwright Society and Belper North Mill, looking to reveal interesting aspects of local heritage. Six evening talks, from March through to October, will alternate between venues in Cromford and Belper.
Doors open at 7pm with refreshments available, (talks start at 7.30pm).
