Opening Times

Autumn and Winter Opening Times – The mill yard, shops and cafés are open 10.00am to 4.00pm
Spring and Summer opening hours may vary.

Tours & Visitor Centre – Audio Tours are available from the Mill Shop. Guided Tours are available.

Food & Drink – Arkwright’s Café and Wheatcroft’s Wharf Café are open with indoor and outdoor seating. Takeaways are available from our cafes and The Counting House Coffee Stop. We also offer a variety of places to enjoy picnics.

Shopping & Retail –  Opening times of the independent retail shops located in the mill yard may vary. Please visit the shop’s website for more information.

Picnics & Nature – Beyond the mill walls you can explore our new wooden sculpture trail and picnic area by the River Derwent. Climb the steps of Scarthin Rock to discover the best view of the site. Across the road you can also enjoy a walk along the Cromford Canal, a lovely place to look for wildlife. You can walk from Cromford to the High Peak Junction railway workshops and Leawood Pumping Station. Please use the rubbish bins on site and do not litter.

Toilets – Toilets in the mill yard are open. There are also council operated toilets and a changing places room at the canal wharf.
