Dianne runs White Peak Half Marathon

The White Peak Half Marathon takes place on Saturday 21st May. Organised by Matlock Athletic Club, the route takes runners through the High Peak Trail and offers some very challenging terrain along the way. This includes former railway tracks and some steep inclines and treacherous descents.

Taking part this year will be our very own Dianne Wass. Dianne has been a part of the Arkwright Society team for over ten years and will be running to raise awareness for the charity as well as making her own financial donation. During training, she has sustained some injuries but she is keen to remain ‘in the running’ and push herself to complete this amazing achievement for Cromford Mills. The route concludes at Cromford Wharf, which I’m sure will be a very welcome sight after such a gruelling trail.

This event also serves as a welcome reminder of all the trails and routes that can be accessed from Cromford Mills. This accommodates leisurely strollers who may want to enjoy the birds and wildlife along the canal as well as hardened joggers wanting some challenging climbs and a huge endorphin rush.
