Cromford Mills is proud to host a series of Meet the Maker events as part of Derbyshire Makes 2026, in partnership with Haarlem Artspace. Taking place in the atmospheric Gothic Warehouse, these relaxed evening talks invite you to hear directly from an inspiring line-up of local artists, designers and craftspeople. Discover the stories behind their work, explore their creative processes and gain insight into the realities of life as a maker, with opportunities to see work up close and enjoy live demonstrations.
Peter Knight – Printmaker
Peter develops ideas across both technical areas, creating his intaglio plates and prints in what can only be described as a ‘domestic’ space — an arrangement that is both interesting and at times challenging, and one that offers a slightly different perspective on printmaking practice.
He subtitles his talk “A hands-on approach to ‘domestic’ intaglio printing – technical choices, health and safety, materials and processes.” Everything is open for discussion, and sessions would include the opportunity to look at and handle plate work as part of the experience.
