Join in with the Global Cotton Connections Project Celebration Event on Saturday 21st April.
We have been working in partnership with the University of Nottingham and community groups from Nottingham and Sheffield on this project inspired by the cotton connections that link us all. Come and see the new interpretation in the Visitor Centre @ Building 17 and take part in activities throughout the day, including:
- Spinning a Yarn: Weaving a Poem: Join members of some of Sheffield’s community groups who will be reading poems from a their new book inspired by cotton, edited by Debjani Chatterjee. 12pm to 12.30pm, Guided Tour Room, Mill Yard
- Cotton Focussed Indian Tales: Writer-storyteller Debjani Chatterjee will share traditional tales that focus on cotton. Everyone is welcome. 2pm to 2.30pm, Guided Tour Room, Mill Yard
- Creative Cotton Activity: Have a go at stone painting and embroidery on cotton. Open to everyone. 2.45pm to 3.30pm, Cromford Mills Story Exhibition Room, Mill Yard
