An opportunity to walk in the grounds of Willersley Castle. In the footsteps of generations of visitors, this walk takes us up to the house and in a wide loop behind it to locate the walled former kitchen garden, the icehouse and vantage points from which to enjoy views over the surrounding area. A spur down to the river brings us a spectacular view of Masson Mill and its weir and the remains of the boat house, the inspiration for Joseph Wright's painting View of the Boathouse, near Matlock.
The paths can be muddy and slippery after wet weather. To navigate the uneven terrain please wear suitable clothing / footwear.
Meet outside the Mill Shop at Cromford Mills for the start of the walk.
Time: 10.30am - 12.30pm
