Join Richard for a fascinating illustrated talk about his experience of competing against the ultimate Victorian world record!!
In July 2019 local cyclist Richard Thoday set out to beak one of the oldest sporting records in existance, the remarkable 5 day record for riding a penny farthing 840miles from Lands End to John O'Groats which was set in 1886.
Richard will tell us all of his experience of competing against the ultimate victorian athlete with a talk including background photographs and a film of the attempt.
The talk is free, but Richard is giving this talk in support of the Arkwright Society, which is non profit and welcomes all the help, support and donations towards managing Cromford Mills. In particular we are raising money for our new marquee, which will give us an all wather facility for our events programme.
