Come to the mill for some autumnal crafting. Choose between a Derwent Valley Diorama and a Woven Willow Mobile, and celebrate the unique history of our beautiful valley!
Thursday 29th October, 11am -3pm.
Due to Covid-19 regulations, we will be organising this craft session a bit differently to normal. Please read the following information carefully to make sure you get the most out of your visit.
- These crafts are free of charge but you need to pre-book a timeslot on the day. You can do this at our front gate from 10am. There will be 3 slots every half an hour, from 11am to 2.30.
- No group may be larger than 6 people. Every group must include at least one adult who is responsible for the children in the group.
- Our staff will provide the materials and clean down tables in between use, but due to social distancing they are sadly unable to help you with the crafts. (You can always wave at them though!) There will be instructions for each craft on the table.
- This event will take place in our marquee. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing while inside. It can be a bit chilly too, so bring a warm coat!
Derwent Valley Diorama - make your own 3D representation of the Derwent Valley. Colour in hills, draw trees, and build a mill to create your very own local landscape.
Woven Willow Mobile – blend local nature and our textile history as you weave wool around our pre-prepared willow circle. Then head to our Beyond the Mill Walls area to gather natural materials to finish it off!
Suitable for 3+, with a bit of grown up help.
Please note, this event depends on staff availability and current government guidance. Details may change closer to the time.
