Matt Symonds
Matt is currently Director and part owner of Peak NDT Limited, a manufacturing company in Derby. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Durham University Matt moved to Derby to work in programme management roles in the aerospace industry with Rolls-Royce and later in the rail sector with Bombardier Transportation. Having completed an MBA Matt transitioned into consultancy, and from 2007 onwards co-owned, managed and grew a consultancy specialising in accessing grant funding and tax incentives for R&D focused businesses which successfully sold in 2025.
Matt lives with his wife, two children and miniature dachshund in Derby. Having moved to Derbyshire over 25 years ago he has a genuine passion for the county and its history and in his spare time loves walking in the Peak District, running, painting, red wine and getting together with friends and family.
